Itinerary
Departure is from Reykjavík domestic airport with mid-morning flight. Check-in for international flights at Reykjavik domestic airport is 60 min. before departure.
After 1 hour and 40 min. the aircraft will reach Kulusuk airport.
On this Kulusuk Day Tour in Greenland, the guide will escort you on a walk (3 km/approx. 30-40 min.) to the colourful village where you get to observe the everyday life and meet some of the 250 local residents and view some of their quality crafts – In Kulusuk you will find some of the east coast’s most skillful craftsmen, whose tupilaks are of exceptional quality. Traditional hunting and fishing are still essential sources of income for many families in the settlement.
The town itself is situated on a small rocky island surrounded by floating icebergs in the nearby Arctic ocean. In the tiny village of Kulusuk, you will get a good glimpse of the everyday life on the east coast of Greenland. On this 3 hour tour, you will walk through this colorful village, visit a private museum that presents many of the arctic traditions used by the pioneers that inhabited this remote area, visit the beautiful church of Kulusuk, the unforgettable cemetery and if the weather allows see the traditional Inuit drum-dancing show. All in all, a rich presentation of modern life in a remote arctic village on the east coast of Greenland characterized by its Inuit traditions.
On the return flight from Kulusuk to Reyjavík, you can enjoy a spectacular view of glaciers and floating icebergs in the fjords of Greenland.
