The Icelandic horse – a trip to Iceland is not complete without connecting to our most gracious animal friends. The beautiful fjord area around Akureyri in the North of Iceland offers a variety of choices for horseback riding – for beginners just as for experienced riders. A wonderful opportunity to both enjoy the nature and to learn about the Icelandic horse under expert supervision.

Daily itinerary :
The horseback riding tours start from Skjaldarvík guesthouse, located 5 km north of Akureyri on the western side of the fjord Eyjafjörður. Depending on the weather and the experience level of the group you will follow beautiful trails along the seashore with magnificent views over the fjord and/or ride into the hills surrounding the fjord. After the ride you can relax in the hot tub at the farm, overlooking the sea. Light refreshments are included in the price.
There is also a possibility for a “Ride and Dine” combo: after your riding tour enjoy a delicious evening meal at the guesthouse with fantastic views over Eyjafjörður.

Good to know
- All saftey equipment is supplied at both stables.
- Good shoes must be worn.
- Horses are matched to the riders ability (beginner to experienced).
