Itinerary
Trolls in Iceland are huge like giants and are malicious night trolls, and if they are caught out in daylight they turn to stone forever.
On this tour we will walk around in Dimmuborgir park on snowshoes exploring the lava formations and looking for trolls that have turned to stone. We have found quite a few and maybe you can help us find even more of them.
Trip info
On this short tour we take you to Dimmuborgir near Lake Mývatn, a special place any time of the year, but even more mysterious in winter. Snow covers the land and the twisted lava rocks stand over the landscape in all kinds of unusual shapes. Exploring it on snowshoes is a perfect way to explore the lava maze. As we walk we must keep an eye out for the numerous trolls lurking in the rocky formations of “The Dark Castles”.
