Christmas season in Iceland starts on first Advent. This year Nonni Travel team chose the weekend to celebrate together at Mývatn. The weather was perfect, the setting afternoon sun reflected beautifully on the pleasantly warm water of the Nature Baths and Christmas buffet at Sel-Hótel Mývatn was delicious.
On Sunday we awoke to beautiful morning light and calm weather – perfect for a stroll around the pseudocraters at Skútustaðir. On the way home we made a quick stop at Goðafoss waterfall, bathed in the rays of sunlight which is low on the horizon this time of winter.
Following are a few photos from this weekend (and more on our facebook site: https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=10153950717151587&id=316096626586)

Ready for the delicious Christmas buffet dinner.
And yes, we got to enjoy some northern lights as well in between the meal courses.
