Daily itinerary
Day 1 – Friday: Flight to the Faroe Islands – Tórshavn
Option from Denmark: departure of flight to the Faroe Islands from Copenhagen at 12:25, arriving at Vágar airport at 13:40.
Option from Iceland: departing Keflavik International Airport at 09:00, arrival at Vágar airport at 11:25.
Shuttle bus from Vágar airport to Tórshavn, the capital of the Faroe Islands. Accommodation for the next three nights at the hotel within walking distance to the old town centre and the old Tinganes, crammed with red coloured wooden turf-roofed houses and the Tórshavn cathedral; on a hill beside the port there is the historic fortress Skansinn. The town is adorned with numerous outdoor sculptures.
Day 2 – Saturday: Tórshavn – Vestmanna Bird Cliffs
Half day tour in the morning over the mountains to Vestmanna from where you go on an exciting boat tour to the fantastic bird cliffs. The boat sails alongside the vertical rock walls and into the small sounds and deep grottoes. After the boat tour you will visit the ancient viking settlement in Kvívík before returning to Tórshavn.
Afternoon free to explore the town, shop for high quality woollen goods or enjoy a cup of coffee in one of the local coffee shops
Day 3 – Sunday: Tórshavn – Sandoy
A day trip to one of the most pristine islands in the Faroes, where you can still experience the traditional lifestyle. There are many interesting sights on this tour such as small communities, magnificent views of the Viking island Skúvoy and the smaller islands of Stóra Dímun, bird cliffs and more.
Day 4 – Monday: Departure day
If departing on flight to Denmark: you can either take an early morning flight to Copenhagen at 08:20, or spend the morning in Tórshavn and leave on early afternoon flight, departing at 14:30.
If you take the evening flight to Copenhagen, then you have time for an additional optional Golden Circle tour, with highlights, such as Tjørnuvik with views of „risin og kellingin“, the villages of Gjógv and Saksun. Returning to Tórshavn at 17:00. Then transfer to Vágar airport in time for the Copenhagen flight departing at 20:40 and arriving to Denmark at 23:45.
If departing on flight to Iceland:
In the morning you have time to spend in the city and then take the coach transfer to Vágar airport. Flight to Keflavik departing at 14:45, arriving in Iceland at 15:15.
